Hello my fellow bloggers I write to you today, confused. You see I am reading this book in my English class and it had this quote that really caught my attention, "Al Jibaro nunca se le quita la mancha de platano", which means a jibaro can never wash away the stain of the plantain. I don't know why but this quote keeps repeating in my head over and over again. I feel that this quote symbolizes what me as a Latino living in America should always remember. I cant escape my past, I see people from my country that come here to America and suddenly want to focus on living the American dream. They want to act, talk, live, be an American. But why cant they be who they are? You cant conform into something your not born into. America is the place that i live in but, my true home is in my country. I wont stop being what I am and nobody can say or do anything to change that. I simply feel, proud of who I am. I leave you today accomplished after writing this, you already know who it is your not so friendly neighborhood spriderman.
